David Kiefer, MD, is a board-certified family physician with licenses in Washington, Arizona, and Wisconsin.
David Kiefer, MD, is a family medicine doctor and the medical director for the Integrative Health Clinic at UW Health. Dr. Kiefer provides care for patients with a wide variety of health conditions, including digestive problems, sleep problems, mental health conditions and chronic pain due to arthritis or an injury.
Trained in ethnobotany and evidence-based herbal medicine, Dr. Kiefer specializes in naturopathic medicine, integrative health and mind-body approaches to health and healing. He believes that open communication and building trust with his patients is key.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Kiefer is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. His research and teaching activities encompass both national and international universities and conferences, and he has a focus on Latin American ethnobotany and evidence-based herbal medicine.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Kiefer enjoys biking and participating in sports around the greater Madison area.
